Building vs Drafting

To be sung to the classic Gloria Gaynor tune ...

"I will survive":

At first I was afraid, I was petrified

Kept thinking I could never build what you had specified.

But then I spent so many days

just trying to build what you drew wrong

and I grew strong

and I learned how to get along.

And now you're back

with more floor space

just walked in to find you here

with that design change look on your face.

should have charged an awful lot

I would have allowed contingency

If I had known for just one second

you'd always be bothering me

Go on now go, delete that door

move that wall around now

'cause you don't like it anymore’.

Weren't you the one who would not answer RFI's

did you think I'd crumble

did you think I'd lay down and die?

Oh no, not I

I will survive

Oh as long as I know how to claim

I know I'll be alright

I've got all my vari's to submit

I've got all my notices to give

and I'll survive

I will survive (hey-hey)

It took all the skill I had

to keep it from falling apart

kept trying hard to mend

your poor design from the start.

And I spent oh so many days

just feeling sorry for myself

I used to cry

whenever you sent SI's.

And you see me

somebody new

I'm not that pre-tender person

still in love with you.

And so you felt like dropping in

and you expect me to be free

and now I'm saving all my loving

for someone who's not defecting me.

Go on now go, amend that floor,

delete that stairwell now

'cause you don't want it anymore’.

Weren't you the one who would not answer RFI's

did you think I'd crumble,

did you think I'd lay down and die?

Oh no, not I

I will survive

Oh as long as I know how to claim

I know I'll be alright

I've got all my vari's to submit

I've got all my notices to give

and I'll survive

I will survive (hey-hey)
